Sygration Dispatchable Load Market Simulator

Sample Bids are provided to allow you to quickly demonstrate the Dispatchable Load Bid Simulator. For each sample, select the appropriate Delivery Point, Range of Historical Data, and cut-and-paste the bid text into the appropriate input box.

First, launch a separate window to have this sample text available in a new window while the Bid Simulator remains in a separate window.

Sample 1

100MW Load with 5 Energy Laminations and Operating Reserve Offer for 80MW

The example uses a generator that has Shadow Price data available and is in the proximity of the load. The same lamination set will be used for all 24 hours. As no explicit 30 Minute Operating Reserve offer is provided, the 10 Minute offer will be used for both markets.

Go to the Bid Simulator window and submit the following information. Launch a separate window

Delivery Point:THUNDERBAY-LT.G2
Historical Data Range:March - March 2004
Energy Bid: 1-24,{(2000,0),(2000,20),(500,50),(200,75),(20,100)};

Operating Reserve
10-Min Non Spinning:

Sample 2

60MW Load with separate Laminations for 8-Hour Shifts

The example uses a generator that has Shadow Price data available and is in the proximity of the load. The plant requires more load during the day, so the bid has a higher MW requirement and more lamination details during this time. As no explicit 30 Minute Operating Reserve offer is provided, the 10 Minute offer will be used for both markets.

Go to the Bid Simulator window and submit the following information. Launch a separate window

9-16,{(0,0),(0,10),(2,15),(3,20)};
17-24,{(0,0),(0,15),(.75,20),(1.5,20),(5,25)};

Sample 3

25MW Load with specific hourly load requirements during the day

The example uses a generator that has Shadow Price data available and is in the proximity of the load. The plant needs only 5MW of base load during the night, typically needs 8 hours of core operations, but and has opportunity to start early or shut down late if prices are attractive. The load is not permitted to offer 10 Minute Operating Reserve, but submits a 30 Minute OR offer as a price taker ($0).

Since the energy bids are very marginal from hours 7-18 and could likely be dispatched off, there is a real possibility that OR dispatches would include the $2000 non-dispatchable portion.
