The Dashboard Zone map is a component of the Sygration Dashboard and displays Market Prices and locational prices (Shadow Prices) across Ontario. Market and Shadow Prices are generated by the Ontario IESO's Dispatch Optimization and Scheduler (DSO) and will be updated automatically on the display as new data generated. Adobe/Macromedia Flash Player 8 (released in September 2005) or above must be installed for the Zone Map display to function.
The map of Ontario includes about 15 sample shadow prices at various locations. These prices are the most recent 5-minute energy prices available from the IESO and will update automatically as new data is made available. Shadow Prices vary from one location to another and are an indication of offer availability, system constraints and congestion between areas. Items that effect shadow prices are:
The map has also been broken up into ten separate pricing zones and the color of each zone will reflect the reference shadow price in that area, based on the color legend in the upper right. By clicking your mouse on any shadow price, an history chart will appear in a new browser window (or tab) for that Shadow Price.
The top-right corner shows the Market Prices for Ontario, including Energy, 10-Minute Spinning Operating Reserve (OR), 10-minute Non-Spinning OR and 30-minute OR. These prices are the most recent 5-minute market prices available from the IESO and will update automatically as new data is made available. The color border around the Market Prices will also change automatically and correspond to the color legend shown to its left.
